Virtual reality and Graphics Architectures (VGA) research group of Laboratory of Pervasive Computing works on parallel software and hardware techniques needed by the next generation ultra-realistic mixed reality applications and devices.
We are now looking for new programmers and hardware developers to help us reach our ambitious longer term goal of developing the world’s best graphics processor for embedded mixed reality devices of the future.
On the way towards the goal, there are several extremely interesting challenges we aim to tackle. Solving these problems requires applying advanced algorithmic, software and hardware related knowledge.
While our goals are ambitious and the techniques sometimes a bit advanced, we don’t expect you to be a master of everything when you start: your work description will be tailored based on your previous knowledge and current interests. So, don’t hesitate to apply!
We offer multiple summer job positions. The summer job might be possible to extend to a part-time during-semester job or a bachelor’s/master’s thesis project depending on the project situation and the applicant’s performance.
In VGA we work on tasks that involve at least the following techniques and topics in which you can develop your skills on when working with us. Note: this is not a “required skills list”, but interest or previous experience in any of them helps:
Please send your application/inquiries by March 12th 2018 via the TUT recruitment system, but preferably as soon as possible. We might hire good candidates earlier than the deadline. Please include your CV, your study record, and a cover letter describing your current situation including a list of courses you plan to complete in the Spring semester, if you are a student. Be sure to tell us if you have any experience in any of the above topics. For questions, email Docent Pekka Jääskeläinen (firstname.lastname@example.org).
