Kaisa is a professor of user experience and usability at the Department of Pervasive Computing, and the head of Unit of Human-Centered Technology. Since early 2000s, she has been a true evangelist and fire-bearer of UX at TUT, enriching people’s views of what makes technology user-friendly and high-quality. Over the years, she has managed to build a lively research group around the theme of human-computer interaction, as well as a study program with approx. ten courses for both Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level students. Her research interests include exciting topics like UX of mobile and ubiquitous systems, social computing, and cloud computing.

Kaisa is an active sportswoman, always trying to a find a time slot for a jog in her busy calendar – even during large conferences. Her bright persona brings positive flavors of optimism and can-do attitude in any activities she is involved in. Last but not least, Kaisa likes to talk, a lot, maybe as much as she likes the lime green color.
