16 years of SoC symposium

Annual international System-on-Chip symposium was held at Tampere once again. This year the conference had about 20 presentations and 4 invited speakers, for example Hank Hoffmann (Univ. Chicago) had very interesting observations about multicore chips and their on-chip communication. Our department had 3 papers and all were made by Kactus2 team:

M. Honkonen et al., WOKE: A novel workflow model editor.
T.Hämäläinen, E. Salminen, Gamification of System-on-Chip Design.
J. Virtanen et al., Implementation of Multicore Communications API.

Kactus2 tool targets faster embedded system development. Key enablers are intuitive GUI for efficient design with IP reuse and communication abstraction.

SoC was co-located with Norchip and it was announced that these two conferences will merge next year. The new conference shall be called NorCAS and held next year in Oslo.
