Three “new” professors at IHTE – is Tampere3 really happening?

Last week we were happy  to hang up the names of three “new” professors by room TF210: prof. Roope Raisamo, prof. Veikko Surakka and prof. Markku Turunen. All are well-known and established professors at University of Tampere, known as the “other university in Tampere”. They are the professors of Human-Computer Interaction in Tauchi – Tampere Unit for Computer-Human Interaction.

The unit of Human-Centered Technology (IHTE) has had close cooperation with Tauchi for about ten years. We have a common Master’s program as well as a long history of successful research projects. Now it seemed like the right time to assign a room for them, as they are visiting our campus on a weekly basis. As a counter act, they have promised to set up a room for our researchers (we are still waiting…).

Who knows, maybe this gives some indication of the Tampere3 development…?

If you are curious of who these three professors are and what they do, check out (partly in Finnish):

Roope Raisamo

Veikko Surakka

Markku Turunen
